The simplest way to take cheap wines and make the best drink out of it is to make some mulled wine. Here is how.
Take a pot and set it on the stove. Add a 750ml bottle of dry red wine into the pot and set it on a low heat. Peel the zest off half an orange and drop it in. Stir gently. Add in some sugar and continue to stir. Drop in the cloves one by one, and don't forget to stir. Add in half a cup of brandy and the rest of the sugar. Stir for a while before you drop in a cinnamon stick. Stop stirring and let it start steaming. Once it does, serve it in mugs.

One of the most famous and appreciated red wines is Cabernet Sauvignon. Usually, its flavors are similar to green or tropical fruits. Also, this type has a quite big density, an intense taste and, because of its acid, it leaves a dry mouth. Specialists recommend combining Cabernet with sea food, salads or beef.
Another renowned red wine is Merlot. It is light, tastes like fruits and it is less dry than Cabernet. Pinot Noir is inferior to these two types, but it is delicate and has a complex taste.
Among white wines, Chardonnay is the most appreciated by specialists, having a rich taste and flavors that vary between lemon, apples, or vanilla. It is very popular and grown on all continents, representing 2% of vine cultivated areas. It is recommended along fish or bird meat. Then there is Sauvignon Blanc – a dry liquid, with acid taste and citric flavors. Like any white wine, it should be consumed with white meat.

Bacteria that cause lung infections and heart diseases may be damaged by the moderate consumption of red wine. The scientists at the University of Illinois, Chicago have announced that both red wine and resveratrol – a polyphenol in wine – may be the needed agents for an
effective destruction of the air bacteria, known for causing lung infections. The microbes called "Chlamydia pneumoniae" may cause the occurrence of pneumonia, acute bronchitis, and other airways infections.
Both red wine and resveratrol were as efficient as the antibiotics used for the destruction of type C pneumonia, said the researchers, but they did not specify the amounts used. "In
vitro we have isolated the bacteria in wine and the resveratrol destroyed it", said one of the scientists. So, if you want to live longer and have a healthy life, one glass of red wine a day really should keep the doctors away.
